As God called men we must take a stand on Bible truth. We must preach the whole counsel of God, even when it goes against the status quoe. When it is politically incorrect to preach the whole counsel of God, we must preach the whole counsel of God.
I find it alarming at how hard we make excuses for things we do, and lead the Lord churches into. In a day and time when people will not endure sound doctrine, are we giving them what they desire? Are we becoming ear scratchers instead of Bible preachers?
The ecumenical movement is overcoming the Lord's churches and God's men. We are getting caught up in the excitement of getting along with everybody under one "Christian" banner. We are so caught up that we take Scripture, twist it around so that it justifies our actions.
We need BackBone men. BackBone to stand on Bible truth. And let us all remember, we are not in a popularity contest we are God called men--we are to feed the flock, lead the flock, and be an example to the flock.
How Is Your BackBone?

AMEN! It's time for that yearly associational rally again. Are you coming tomorrow?
ReplyDeleteGood post...reminds me of one of my favorite scriptures, Ps.27:1 "The LORD is my light and my salvation, whom shall I fear? the LORD is the strength of my life, of whom shall I be afraid?"
ReplyDeleteI agree - we need more backbone men who will finish as the same kind of preacher they were when they started. After almost 34 years, I'm still standing by my convictions. Great post - leaves no wiggle room for the culture crowd.

ReplyDeleteJohn Wayne said, "Courage is being scared to death... and saddling up anyway." We preachers need to saddle up!
