Taking Prayer out of Schools "Divine Intervention or Devil's Inspirationio/"

Is it a good thing that prayer was taken out of schools?

  1. Assuming you mean public schools....
Rest assured, as long as there are tests, there will always be prayer in school.

I teach middle school (7th grade) in Texas.
All Texas schools begin the day with the pledges and a "moment of silence." I prefer the moment of silence because in today's world, you never know who/what group might lead the prayer or demand to have their religion represented. At places like football games, I wish they would just have a Christian prayer.

True story: When I attended SFA university, they allowed a prayer before games, the student praying could say "God", but university officials instructed them to NOT say "in Jesus name."

  2. When prayer and BIble reading were taken out of schools as a daily public exercise in the class room, the results have been catastrophic. Public school is a voilent, unruly place where rebellion, disobeience, profanity have risen to epidemic proportions. When I was in school, (with Bible reading and prayer) one of our biggest problems was chewing gum in class. The deteriration of public school immediately began with the new law. However, I must state that no law can stop anyone from praying privately. I instructed my children (in public school where it was too dangerous for them to ride the bus) to pray before taking tests.

  3. I'm glad that no one can lead my daughter in prayer. It is my job and the Churches job to lead in her spiritual grow not the educational system. If they allow a Baptist to lead in public prayer then they must allow the pagans of this world and I would not tolerate that at all.

Last year I did pray before a public school event at Parkway high in Bossier. They did not dictate any part of my prayer. I prayed the plan of salvation and ended in Jesus Name.

The problem in the public school system in my opinion is not because of the lack of Public Prayer, but the lack of Christians getting involved in children's lives. My wife teaches 11 and 12 grade biology. The things she tells me would blow your mind . I really believe the major problem not only in the School System but in the world itself is the silence of God's People.

  4. I say the government should ONLY allow ABA preachers to lead in prayer in schools, and preach there too. And traditional conservative or progressive conservative ABA preachers. On top of this, if the ABA ever changes, they should only allow those on the right side of the fence to lead in prayers. Who is with me?
